By the end of their training, delegates should be able to:

• know the key principles of infection control
• understand the types of micro-organisms, immunity and infection
• state the chain of infection and how the spread of infection may be prevented
• deal with spillages of body fluids, including disinfection and disposal

• know the importance of good personal hygiene

• evaluate the safety of their own working environment
