Suitable for
Those with first aid qualifications who need to be able to respond in a situation where use of an AED (automatic external defibrillator) is necessary and provision of basic life support
Course content
By the end of the training, delegates should be able to:
- Understand anatomy and physiology of the heart & lungs
- Have refreshed knowledge of primary and secondary surveys
- Have revised Basic Life Support techniques
- Understand the benefits of early defibrillation
- Manage a scene where defibrillation is necessary
- Understand and know how to use an AED
- Complete appropriate documentation
Delegates will be assessed at the end of the session on their practical skills and theoretical knowledge.
