Content
By the end of their training, delegates should be able to:
- understand how the heart works
- know the causes of heart attacks
- know the difference between heart attack, angina and coronary heart disease
- know and recognise physical and psychological symptoms
- understand the nurse/carer’s role in managing chest pain/complications and rehabilitation, recovery and psychological support
- know what can cause a stroke and how to prevent it
- know the concept of FAST and why it is important
- appreciate the importance of acute stroke care
- understand essential features of early rehabilitation
- appreciate clinical problems
- know of equipment and adaptations
